Hello May~

Seems that I am becoming a monthly (at best) blogger.  I am not sure if there is nothing really interesting happening or if I am not taking the time to recount what does happen in our home.  I am thankful that the weather has been so nice the last week or so.  We celebrated Jake's piano practicing with a recital at Reiman's on Saturday.  We love Zeljka, Jake's teacher.  She is very patient and I think she really likes Jake.  He gets so serious when he is playing.  He is getting pretty good.  :)

I have been stressed about the planning and team building responsibilities for our Honduras Mission Trip that I inherited.  I am not feeling qualified for nor do I feel like I will properly prepare our team to go, but I also know that God realizes my inadequate feelings, too.  I know that our trip will work out and that there will be new Christ Followers because we are going, but I am not at peace right now.  I am praying for my words to be God's words as I lead training on Sunday.  I am so very glad that Sam is excited about going back, again.  I know he will always remember these weeks we have spent together.

Mother's Day was delightful.  The boys and Scott got me some cycling sunglasses, flowers and a new pink water bottle to go in my pink water bottle holder.  I would never have considered myself to be a girly girl.  I was more of a tomboy.  But now that I am the only one with 2 X chromosomes in this house, I have decided to be more girly.  Sam is pretty sure he will always be embarrassed of me in my pink glasses, but I like them.  We spent the afternoon at the I-Cubs game.  It was for Liam's birthday, but it was a fun day nonetheless.  Scott and I took Ted for a walk and swim after we got home.  Aside from some wind, the weather was wonderful.

I have been riding my new bike.  I need to desperately get into shape for RAGBRAI.  I am getting a bit better at the distance, but my booty and shoulders still are pretty sore afterwards.  I did ride 16 miles yesterday.  I was going to ride today, but the thunderstorms changed my plans.  I am definitely of a fair-weather rider.

The boys have restarted Tae Kwon Do.  We are back at Farrell's in Beaverdale.  We love Master Miller and all three of the boys have gotten right back into it.  We are two weeks away from finishing the re-entry via AIM High.  It is an eight week introductory course.  Because we had been gone for 4 years, the boys had forgotten many of the forms.  I like the character building aspects and that they encourage respect and good grades, not just the athletic part.  We will see how the ongoing part goes.  There always seems to be whining at some point.  Summer may not be the best time to try to get back into the routine, except it will be nice not to be in school.

I am hoping for a few more weeks of Spring before we move onto the heat of the summer, but I would also like it not to go from 98 degrees to 68 degrees in one day.
